McGill Transition Support Program for Adults with ASD Curriculum

With funding from the Max Bell Foundation we developed the curriculum for a small-group format transition service for adults with ASD, as a demonstration model and to examine the efficacy of such supports. The curriculum was guided by participants’ self-expressed needs in the domains of social communication, self-determination (e.g., independence) and working with others. Between 2013 and 2015 we conducted an intervention study where 34 participants were randomized to take part in the intervention immediately or to a delayed intervention control group. The study is registered on ClinicalTrials.gov (Identifier: NCT02439671) with full results forthcoming. We are happy to share the manual of our curriculum, currently in English, with educators, practitioners and service providers.
